A month long celebation of our timber heritage and Mason County’s historic distinction as the Christmas Tree Capital of the World. Locally harvested Firs will be placed in a county-wide maze. Your company, organization or family, has the opportunity to choose a tree to decorate. Includes LED timered lights, you add securely attached non-glass decorations.
Trees will be placed at locations throughout Mason County. Mapped Shelton downtown trees will follow a walking route connecting Christmastown’s seasonal sights and HOLIDAY MAGIC events.
Celebrate a loved one, share your community pride – Christmastown outdoor tree displays are an opportunity to share your family, business or organization’s holiday message with the whole community!
Reserve your tree NOW for $100. Trees will be numbered and installed the week before Thanksgiving. Decorations can be added NOV through DEC 1. Judging for prizes is DEC 7. Decorations must be removed by JAN 5 or they will be disposed of.
Adopt a 2023 Christmastown Tree
• $100 online at SheltonDowntownMerchants.com. Check made to Shelton Downtown Merchants.
• Volunteers will place trees on streets, trees will be labeled with Sponsor name. Every effort will be made to choose location closest to business but location is subject to City of Shelton right of ways and permiting. Sponsor will be notified of location. Businesses outside the downtown area will have a sponsorship location centrally located.
• Decorating will take place November 27-December 1, 2023. Businesses are encouraged to have trees completed by DEC 1 first Friday event. No glass items and all ornaments must be securely attached. This is a family-centric event, volunteers reserve the right to remove inappropriate decorations. Decorations only; no charity or giving trees. Each tree will include a string of white battery-operated LED lights with timer. Additional LED lights and decorations provided by the Applicant and must be removed no later than January 5, 2024. The city will not accept liability for any lost or stolen decorations. Please note that items such as hats/clothing and food items may be more apt to disappear than other types of decorations. Trees will be judged after December 1.
Winners will be announced at the Christmastown Celebration at the Civic Center event on December 2nd to kick-off the 2023 Christmastown and Festival of the Fjord events. Pickup of prizes will be arranged with the winners in the following categories: Most Classy/Classic, Overall Best in Show, Best Business Representation and Best Timber theme
• Volunteers will remove and recycle trees. Sponsors, please do not remove trees. Tree locations subject to change.
